more than likely a typing speed around or above 35wpm, knowledge of how to use microsoft word/excel and possibly power point.





basic windows knowledge.
Reply:Mainly, you need to be able to type at over 40 wpm and also be pretty accurate in your typing !

Reply:Well, you need to be able to sit for long periods of time. Not much talking. Alot of typing, quickly. Usually the computer skills are fairly limited, simply because you are just transferring information into the computer. I have done this type of work and it really is just alot of sitting, typing, not hardly anything else. Hope this helps.
Reply:Well, you would need to type at least 50 wpm, depending on where you're applying. Every place has different requirements. You'd need to be familiar with the programs that the company uses, and computers in general.





My mom is a data entry clerk for a lab and I don't think she really had any prerequisites. Typing speed is probably the most important, because they can always just train you on all the programs.

do you have good typing skills? you would need a min of 30 wpm in my opinion unless its just numerical data entry.

Reply:I started at my current job 28 years ago in data entry. I didn't think that job even existed anymore.


You will enter mass amounts of data into their database or system. It involves sitting in front of computer typing.


Accuracy and speed are usually what they want. Knowledge of the applications you will be using to enter the data is important. Hope that helps.
