what is the job description of data entry? What is the starting pay?

This would be primarily for people with a basic graduation as the highest academic level. The role would be to take info from printed text/recorded voice and enter details in an Online Web Interface in specified fields.


Pay in India would be about 8-12k per month at the most or about 10 USD /day

Reply:Some companies will describe a position as "data entry" but then actually expect a lot more of you. I work for a company like that.





I can also say that most of the "at home data entry" jobs you find online are scams.





I do happen to work from home but it was a rare find, and the pay is crap, because my company seems to think that since I work from home, they don't need to pay me squat and I should be thrilled!





In an office in my area (which has a low cost of living and low pay), data entry clerks make between $9 and 14 an hour, with the average seeming to be around $11.00 an hour. Not too bad because you just need to be fast and accurate.





There are websites out there that will let you test your typing and keying speed for free, and practice to improve it. I used one of those before I applied for my job, since I was a little rusty on the numerical side of things.





In general, it's a fairly cruddy clerical job but I like it better than being a receptionist or secretary, since I'm not a "people person".

Reply:Data entry consists of keying in information be it alpha or numeric information. Those jobs are pretty easy to come by and they range from 7 to 15 dollars an hour. It depends on how fast you can type.
Reply:data entry is just typing information into a computer. Starting salary depends on the company, and on the standard living wage in that area. I know in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, starting wage is about $10 an hour.
