What is the average data entry speed recruitment agencies look for?

I am learning to touch type, with a view to getting a data entry job. I am wondering what sort of speed i would need to attain. thanks

Data entry is one of the most boring jobs I did back in the day, I prefered being an administrator. Both jobs I was able to do without needing to touchtype.





If you can type, thats a good thing. Speed is not of an issue, as there is likely to be something you can do whatever your speed.





My colleagues in Office division like anything above 18wpm, but the faster AND more accurate, the better. Thats a really easy figure to get.





Data entry is mostly reading off forms and adding it into a database. It is mostly popular with people who need a job there and then regardless of what it is doing.
Reply:I think it is about 40WPM or that is what companies look for especially when recruiting for data entry positions
